SnagIt has a utility that allows you to convert a group of photos at one time. You can change image dimensions, file type and many other things.
To access this utility open SnagIt and in the related tasks window on the left side click the Convert Images
link under Related Tasks.
This opens a wizard that has a few simple steps.
1. Selecting Files – Click ‘Add Files’ and browse for and add whatever images you want to modify. Click ‘Next’.
2. Conversion Filters —

a. You can add many things through the filter menu, such as image captions, borders and edge effects.
b. If you select an operation or filter to apply and then decide you do not want to do it, for most of the operations you can click on “Modify” again, then the operation category you chose, for example you might have chosen to set the “Color Depth” to “Grayscale” or some other setting and want to change it so that no color modification is made. Just click on “Modify” and then “Color Depth” and then “None” and this will deselect the option you chose.
3. Output options – Select a directory for the completed files and the output format that you want.

a. You can also change the filenames if you want, adding dates and times in numerous formats, as well as automatically numbering the photos if you choose by selecting “Automatic file name” and then clicking the “Options” button.
b. Once the Automatic File Name window appears you will see several options for configuring the filenames of the pictures you are modifying..
c. Once you have all of these settings configured click ‘Next’ and verify the changes you are about to make. Once you click “Finished” the changes will be applied to your images.
