SnagIt tip # 1: Using the selection tool

July 11th, 2007 · No Comments

In our first tutorial we talked about using the Crop tool to cut an area out of your screen capture using SnagIt. This same tool can be used to, in a way, free an area of the image so that it can be moved around or modified independently.

All you do is select something and then you can either move it by clicking over the top of it and dragging it (or use the arrow keys) or you can cut or copy it and paste it somewhere else. For the following image I selected and moved the Shared Documents folder and then selected the icon and the words ‘local disk’ and then copied and pasted that back into the document. I then moved it down to look like another drive.

After that I used SnagIt’s text editor to put ‘(X:)’  as the drive label.
