I have been looking for sometime for a place to sell prints and to publish my pictures where they would be seen. Recently I found a place that makes it really easy to offer your photos for sale. They do all of the hard work, you just have to upload your pictures and specify a markup and specify in what forms you want to sell your pictures. There is a huge community of artists at redbubble and loads of high quality photos and artwork.
I will do my typical disclaimer. Just like most ‘artsy’ sites there is some stuff you may not want your children to see (or you may not want to see) because a lot of people think that pushing the envelope of what is decent = art.
Anyway, you can turn on a filter that will not show images that are unacceptable in a work environment. This does not filter out all half-dressed people or other nonsense, but it filters out a lot of it.
Now that I went off on my little tirade let me get back to redbubble.
Once you make an account you can set up a particular photo so that it can be sold as greeting cards, prints, framed pictures, etc.
They even have a template so that you can make T-shirt designs!!! Pretty cool stuff.
And best of all, membership on the site is free.
They encourage you to link to your own website or blog. There isn’t any sort of competition clause or anything like that. They want to help you promote your photos or artwork.
It would be easier for you to just figure it out than for me to try to write up much more about it. It is pretty simple to set up an account. My username is therightpic so if you create an account you could specify that you heard about it from me. That would be great. Also, once you do, let me know and I will take a look at your stuff.
