Hello. This is the first post that I think will stick. I did my ‘Hello World!’ posts a few days ago.
Last week I purchased a couple of domain names (TheRightPic.com and PicPro.info) from Go.Daddy.com. I also signed up for web hosting from Lunarpages.com.
This past weekend I began working on the site. I have minimal experience with web and other sorts of dev. I don’t know much about HTML or CSS or any of the other crap that goes into making a modern website.
My goal is to make a site that offers people free photos, images and video. I also want to start writing tutorials about some of the software I use at work for creating and modifying images.
I also thought it would be cool to have a blog, though I don’t know much about them. As you can see I got the blog up and running. I am using Wordpress after a failed attempt to get B2evolution running and customized the way I wanted it.
I still have a lot to figure out but I am working on it!
One of the biggest problems was getting the regular stuff I wanted incorporated with the blog pages. Either my plain HTML site ate the posts or the posts would eat the plain HTML. Hopefully I have won at least the first battle of that war. I have a feeling it might be a long one, though.
Thanks for checking us out.
Matt Dawdy
