Well, this has been an interesting week.

I have been working on the site almost exclusively for a week. There must be an easier way! If there isn’t I am going to make one.

I like Wordpress blogging software but the HTML editor has some is-sues, as they say in Britain. I am not sure how many times today I added an image, set its size, and then had its size changed automagically for me. It was less than awesome.

Today I got the image search box working so that you can type in an image keyword and have it searched for from any page on the site. To do that I had to modify the php.ini file to have an include entry for the folder where the Coppermine Photo Gallery stuff is. That way it can call the functions.

It was a lot like messing with your Path in Windows.

I also wrote a tutorial for SnagIt. It is amazing how long it takes to make something look decent on a web page. I am not happy with the look or feel of it completely but what you do see took ridiculous amounts of time. Even my inexperience aside, there must be an easier way.

I may end up buying Dreamweaver. I remember it being pretty easy to use four or five years ago when I made a website.

What else did I learn today? I am going to have to have one of my lawyer buds look at the fine print on the Rules page and make it more prominent, maybe with a popup when you first download an image. I will have to be very careful.

There must be a better interface for posting blog entries and writing pages…

I can’t wait until I can post about something besides site dev! I want to start uploading images and writing tutorials!

EDIT:

For the last few hours I have been trying to make a few simple changes to the homepage.  Every time I do something funky happens with the code and it gets messed up, putting tables in and deleting part of the data.  I am going to start using IE and see if that helps.
