Jetlag

July 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

It is about 5 am.  I have been up for a few hours.  I did stay up all day yesterday and went to bed at a decent hour so I think it won’t be too tough of a day as I start my course.

I thought I might go back to sleep but then at about 3:30 a group of people arrived in the next room and started getting pretty loud.  It was awesome.  Every once in a while I hear a guy laugh with this obnoxious guffaw.  I’d like to sock him right in his grill, but that is just the jetlag talking.

Will have to see how our ‘experiment’ with the course works out.  I got there to setup and found that I could not run the setup script on the student machines because the OS was locked down.  So, instead the local guy, Desmond, suggested that we run a client VM and have all of the students work on that.  We will see how that works out with memory and the million other factors that depend on the host OS having all of the stuff on it.

I need to write a better description of the things that we have to have when we go to one of these remote trainings.  I also need to make sure that the next iteration of the training is more friendly for things like this.  That will be tough, though, unless we can do everything inside virtual machines.

Well, the people next door are quiet now, must be going into a drunken coma.  I think maybe I will go make some noise…
